Head of Retail

We are looking for a Head of Retail to join the Sales Department in our Copenhagen headquarters from 1 November 2023.

We focus on sustainable growth throughout Europe, Asia, and North America, and therefore we are looking for a full-time, dedicated individual with an interest in cycling that can help us develop our Sales Team.

 

The Position – Head of Retail

As our Head of Retail, you will take the overall lead of our Retail Stores (Flagship Stores) as a part of the Pas Normal Studios Sales Department. You will be reporting to the Head of Global Sales.

The department is accountable for all Sales Value Chain business, from our existing network of wholesale channels to prospecting new markets.

As Head of Retail, you will be responsible for the effective operational leadership across our physical retail channels as well as the development of potential new stores. Working closely with our General Store Managers and our marketing department you will ensure strong cross-functional communication and go-to-market efforts. You will also look for and implement ‘best practice’ in our way of operating across markets  

You will utilise a strong commercial and customer-oriented mindset and a data-driven approach to maximise output from each store. You also hold the ability to manage and lead multiple projects cross-functionally and with many external stakeholders.



Responsibilities

  • Co-develop, lead and implement a Retail Strategy to support the overall Global Sales Strategy

  • Develop and maintain the overall Retail Concept.

  • Manage the overall budget and PnL for each Flagship Store.

  • Prospecting of new markets and potential new Flagship Stores based on business cases.

  • Manage staff, conducting regular performance reviews and follow-up meetings.

  • Ensure compliance with HQ policies and Yearly people wheel (PDD, people review, Salary etc)

  • Develop new shops, liaising with external suppliers, contractors etc. as required in line with the strategy.

  • Manage or assist in the recruitment of full-time staff in each Flagship Store.

  • Define quarterly objectives, standardise business reporting.

  • Conduct weekly follow-up meetings with GSMs with the aim of optimising sales and inventory management and overall alignment.

  • Oversee sales and inventory reporting through PowerBi to support growth and maximize revenue opportunities. 

  • Manage pre-sales and forecasting with GSMs based on data, sell-through rates, cash flow and inventory.

  • Coordinate with Marketing on all Visual Merchandise, events, and rides in stores.

  • Assist and conduct product training sessions and supervise Staff meetings.

  • Develop and implement digital retail solutions, working closely with our D2C team

  • General ad hoc tasks

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has international experience from a senior role within the fashion or cycling industry, working within the field of Sales or Marketing. The candidate possesses strong networking and relationship-building skills and has an outgoing nature. This individual enjoys working proactively, holds good management skills, possesses a strong commercial mindset, and has a strong and structured work ethic.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver results within agreed timescales.

  • Proven experience in a senior Retail Management role or similar.

  • A strong communicator, able to confidently liaise, engage, influence, and negotiate.

 

Who You Are

  • You have studied business, management, communication, or similar.

  • You are highly self-motivated and have experience working with project management in a project leader role.

  • You have +5 years of experience in a similar position within the fashion or cycling industry.

  • You have a strong IT knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Office, and ERP Systems (Business Dynamics, PowerBI)

  • You are highly organized and professional in your work.

  • You thrive equally well with coordination, day-to-day handling, and more operational tasks

  • You have a passion for the cycling industry and it is a plus if you are a dedicated cyclist

  • You are fluent in English, other European languages are a plus.
